Tile is one of the favorite materials that is often used to cover the surface of walls and floors. No wonder if this material is always present to fill the space in a dwelling, including kitchen and bathroom area. Cooking activities in the kitchen make tile susceptible to stain and dirt. If the stain is not immediately cleaned, it will dry and difficult to clean. The dull surface of the tile is actually caused by the dirt that settles because it has been left too long which eventually makes the outer layer becomes prone to scratches. Here are some practical ways to make homemade tile floor cleaner.
- Wheat Flour
To clean the stain caused by liquid splashes of oil or soy sauce, use wheat flour. Sprinkle the flour powder on the affected surface of the oil solution and let stand for a while until the flour is visible to absorb the oil. Then wipe using a dry cloth and continue to rinse using a wet cloth that you have added the scent solution.
- White Vinegar and Lemon Water
A mixture of lemon water and white vinegar can be a cleanser for your floor. Add a small amount of water and add the three liquids to a spray bottle. Use a soft wet mop to rub onto the surface of the floor.
- White vinegar and Water
Stains on the tiles that have caused the color to be dull can be cleaned by using vinegar. Pour a vinegar solution mixed with warm water in a dull area then let stand for about 15 minutes. Use a damp cloth to scrub the surface to get the original color of the tile. The mixture of this solution can also be used to clean the grout on the tile floor. You just need to spray a mixture of these two liquids along the floor grout. Scrub with a very soft brush or soft cloth with a circular motion just like you brush your teeth.
- Baking soda and Pasta White Teeth
An effective solution to removing scratches on the floor is to mix a little bit of baking soda and a bit of non-gel white toothpaste on a wet cloth. Then gently rub on the scratched surface.
- Baking soda and Water
The mixture of these two liquids can be useful for removing stubborn stains on your tiled floor. Mix both with a 50:50 ratio in a spray bottle and shake it to mix well. Spray the liquid and rub using a cloth.
Baking soda can also be used as a grout cleaning mixture. If with a mixture of vinegar and water does not work, then you can try this. You should wait a while for the material to actually react with the dirt. Then, use a damp cloth to wipe on the ceramic grout, not advisable to direct brushing grout. Especially for tile cleaning fluid in a backsplash or your kitchen table, provide:
- 2 cups of baking soda
- 1/2 cup liquid soap
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons of vinegar
Combine all ingredients and put into a spray bottle or small bucket. Wipe using a cloth or sponge. Then wipe again with a dry cloth.
Note: Avoid using chemical cleaners because it can erode your tile floor little by little. In a few months later, your tiles will look dull again even this time it will be difficult to restore its luster.
