Directions. In a bowl, cream the butter, shortening and sugar. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and roll to an 1/8-in. Using a straw, make a hole in the top of each cookie. For frosting, combine the confectioners' sugar, water, corn syrup and vanilla. Place each color of frosting in a pastry or plastic bag.
Directions. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Combine the flour, salt and water; mix well and knead for 10 minutes. Roll out on a lightly floured surface. Cut into desired shapes and make holes for hanging. Bake for 30 minutes; allow to cool. Decorate with poster paints or tube paints.
